High-performance Pall Ultipor III filters feature sophisticated design technology, including a unique patented helical wrap pleat support system and composite element structure offering unparalleled strength, outstanding performance and exceptional service life. These lube and hydraulic filters, used in applications such as turbine hydraulic system filters are a cost-effective and superior solution compared to traditional filter elements.
The Ultipor III filter media features a unique tapered pore design, that can reduce operating costs while offering maximum particle retention. This tapered pore design allows the coarser upstream surface to act as a prefilter that traps larger particles. The finer downstream pores then effectively capture critical clearance-sized particles.
Pall Ultipor III Filters - Features:
Coreless Ultipor® III Filter Elements:
Pall Coreless Ultipor® III filter elements offer the advanced performance of Ultipor® III filter elements in a metal-free package. and feature a helical outer wrap, high strength upstream and downstream support, reinforced polymer end caps, and Ultipor® III filter medium. However, these do not include an internal core, since the core is a part of the filter housing. These high-quality filter elements provide consistent filtering, extended service life, and reduce maintenance costs through waste minimization. They are incinerable, crushable, and lightweight. Most existing Pall housings can be upgraded to coreless technology on-site.
Why choose Pall Ultipor III filter elements?
Pall Ultipor III filter elements feature superior and sophisticated design technology:
Standard Elements Beta ratio = 1000 at 2.5, 5, 7, 12 and 22 µm(c)
Dirt-Fuse Elements Beta ratio = 1000 at 5 and 15 µm(c)
Spin-Ons: 100 psid (7 bar)
Coreless Elements: 50 psid (10 bar)
Compatible with petroleum oils, water glycols, water-oil emulsions and high water content fluids. Fluorocarbon seals available for industrial phosphate esters, diesters and specified synthetics.
Contact factory; composite element structure incorporates upstream and downstream medium support to achieve maximum fatigue cycle life.
Fabrication integrity is verified and assured during the manufacturing process by numerous evaluations and inspections, including bubble point testing.
Flow vs. Pressure drop data (psid/gpm) is listed with each filter series. See the appropriate filter series page.
Note: maximum 140®F (-60®C) in water-based fluids
With state-of-the-art design technology, Pall Ultipor® III filter elements are a perfect solution for applications including:
Turbine Lubrication, Liquid Fuel Treatment, Turbine Lube & Hydraulics, Diesel Generator, Control Fluids, Wind Turbine, Hydroelectric Plants, Auto LOH for Stamping, Auto LOH-Filling Lines, Mining Equipment Gear Case, Mining Equipment Hydraulic Fluid, Mining Equipment Lube Oil - on and off-board, Heavy, medium and light hydraulic, Heavy, medium and light lubrication, Coolants / Bearing Lubrication, Drives Gear Box + Roll Housing, Forging / Extrusion, Gear Box / Bearing, Gear Box / Morgoil, Material Directional Control, Material Handling
1. How are Pall’s Coreless Ultipor® III filter elements different from the traditional Ultipor® III filter elements?
Unlike the Ultipor® III filter elements, Pall’s Coreless Ultipor® III filter elements do not include an internal core, since the core is a part of the filter housing.
Coreless Ultipor filter elements offer all the features of Ultipor® III filter elements in a metal-free package. These are designed with a helical outer wrap, high strength upstream and downstream support, reinforced polymer end caps, and Ultipor® III filter medium.
2. How are Pall Coreless Ultipor® III filter elements incinerable and crushable?
Pall Coreless Ultipor® III elements are incinerable because they are manufactured without metal components. Reinforced polymer end caps and filter support add BTU value in waste-to-energy facilities.
With the elimination of a core, Pall Coreless Ultipor® III elements are crushable. Elements can be folded to easily fit into drum packing equipment.
3. What is the “helical wrap” pleat support system?
The “helical wrap” pleat support system involves an outer helical wrap tightly bonded to each pleat to maintain uniform pleat spacing, and reliable and consistent performance. This minimizes pleat flexing and resists possible media damage, even under extreme operating conditions such as cold start or pressure surge.
4. What is the beta ratio of Pall Ultipor® III filters?
Standard Elements Beta ratio = 1000 at 2.5, 5, 7, 12 and 22 µm(c)
Dirt-Fuse Elements Beta ratio = 1000 at 5 and 15 µm(c)
5. Are Pall’s Coreless Ultipor® III filter elements environment friendly?
Yes, Pall’s Ultipor® III filter elements are environment friendly and designed to reduce disposal and maintenance costs.
